Privacy

The purpose of this statement is to inform you about the personal information I collect and hold, why I collect this data and how long it is stored for and your rights over your personal data. I comply with the terms of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Data Protection Act 2018.

Any data I keep is kept to meet the requirements of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP) and for the purpose of delivering my counselling services. I will not share any personal details unless I find there to be an legal or ethical requirement as previously mentioned. No information will be sold to any third parties or sold for marketing purposes. 

I am registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO)
Any information I collect about you will be limited if you choose to proceed with our counselling journey together. I will hold a combination of written notes stored in a secure cabinet and electronic notes, both of which are only accessible by myself. 
All data is kept securely for seven years from our last session, thereafter it will be properly destroyed.

Security

I take precautions to prevent any loss or misuse of any information you pass on to me. Any communication between us will be sent via email, these will not be encrypted. Thus, not being fully secure communication. I will endeavour to keep systems protected against viruses. I cannot be held responsible for all communications to be virus free. Your rights over your personal dataIf you have any concerns about my use of your data, please contact me directly.
